Each week we bring you a short interview with our featured seller, this week is Kate from Twice Fired.
Business name: Twice Fired
Makers name: Kate Park
Describe your style in no more than 3 words. Timeless, Ethereal, Classic
What do you sell in Fabrication? Glass art, jewellery and homeware.
How long have you had your own business and what made you start it? I have been selling in Fabrication for two years. I love working with glass.
What is your workshop / studio like? My Studio in Farsley, Leeds…
What are your beverage and snack of choice when working? Coffee and smoothies, never a snickers !
What do you find the biggest challenge of running a micro-business? Needing more hours in the day, fitting it all in before school pick up.
If you could go back in time, what would you tell a younger you? Go on as many holidays as you can, I once said no to a ski trip due to work commitments, still regret it.
What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting out? Talk to people, interact with customers and make your own style.
Why did you join Fabrication, and how long ago? I joined Fabrication to be part of a creative community and to be able to sell my work and advertise my workshops in a city centre location. It is a great way to start as plenty of advice on offer, lots of people at different stages in their business, all wanting to see each other doing well.
If you could buy any 3 things from the shop, what would they be? This is the hardest question as so many gorgeous things. I now love christmas shopping as we have fab presents for men, Andy loves the beard oils and balms from Tom. But if I am forced to choose it would be a stained glass hanging decoration from Glass Bubble, a driftwood cottage from Drifting DownTime and a silk scarf from Pattern Passion.
