Parent and Child Pottery Painting Sessions in Leeds city centre

Exclusively run on Wed 30th Oct 1.30 - 4pm Come to the craftiest place in Leeds for our brand-new pottery painting sessions. Paint your choice of mug, plate, bowl, or tile with a design of your choosing using underglazes while you sit and chat with friends and family! At the exclusive price of £20 per person with no hidden costs or fees, drinks and refreshments provided, this is the perfect opportunity to socialize and craft in Leeds City Centre. Paint your pottery, leave it a week or two, and when you get a text or email notification that your pot has been glazed and fired, come and collect it from the Fabrication reserve shelf at any point during opening hours! Children must be supervised by an adult and though the adults do not have to paint they must stay upstairs with the child at all times. Max 3 children per adult. Workshops are recommended for children aged 5+ though younger children are welcomed with a hands on parent to help them. These courses will be run by Becky Walker of BBRT and supported by Katy Davies from Ceramic Rabbit. Becky has been making for as long as she can remember and currently sells mosaics and children’s clothes and accessories at Fabrication on Briggate. She loves to create and even though she sells broken glass and ceramics- she loves to paint pottery. Becky has been teaching for over 10 years and is excited to facilitate pottery painting sessions at the fantastic Fabrication Crafts! Katy is a talented ceramicist, and her craft has been passed down in her family for generations. She inherited her kiln from her grandmother, who was also a ceramicist, and Katy is excellent at hand building figurines. She is the behind-the-scenes expert on ceramics and will be helping glaze and fire the pieces you paint. This class will be held in Fabrication Leeds at 83 Briggate, Leeds, LS1 6LH (1) Facebook Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs. Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via another set of stairs.

Pyrography Masterclass: £45 3 hour class 1pm-4pm - 7th of June 2026 An in-depth, beginner-friendly journey through the ins and outs of creating your own stunning pyrography art. You’ll learn the dos and don’ts of safety, technique and how to select materials, including the chance to practice different techniques on different woods. You’ll then get to put your new skills into practice by decorating an item of your choice to take home, followed by learning how to finish and care for your pyrography piece. Sabrina of FiftyEleven is a second-generation pyrography artist and heritage cabinet maker who has been creating fanciful and practical items in sustainable woods for 15 years. Needlefelt a Spring Picture Needlefelt a Spring Picture Wednesday 25th March 11am – 1pm Want to learn how to needle-felt or to improve your skills? Make a picture of a Spring themed picture in this fun and relaxing 2-hour workshop with established textile artist, Brenda Christison, from Felty and Fabulous. Bring along a favourite photo or let your imagination run wild! You will start by sketching your ideas and then learn 2D needle felting techniques to create a picture to take home. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from. Beginners and those with experience welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult. This class will be held in Fabrication York at 32 Stonegate YO1 8AS Access: The Fabrication shop has step access from the street. What Rhymes with... Laughter? An interactive workshop on humour in poetry: Saturday 6 June 2026 - £25 2.00 pm—3.30 pm + informal discussion time Ideal for poets, stand-ups and spoken-word artists Using examples from poems across the ages, we will examine Comic verse forms Satire and irony Puns and punchlines ‘Slapstick’ By the end of the session, you will have completed a short original poem of your own. The taught workshop session lasts approx. 1 hour 30 minutes, with the opportunity for further discussion at the end. Beginners and more experienced writers are welcome. Feel free to bring along any work you might wish to share if time allows. Course leader Adrian Fayter is a published author with an MA in Creative Writing and substantial teaching experience.
