The Conservation Volunteers, Hollybush
Hollybush Woodworkers are based at The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) Hollybush by the canal in Kirkstall.
We produce a range of products loosely linked to the great outdoors in a mix of reclaimed wood, sustainable sawn timber and logs harvested on projects.
Take a look at our boot pulls, range of bird boxes, bug boxes, hedgehog homes. Products come with background information and recommendations on where to locate your product.
We can also do made to measure commissions for simple benches, garage shelves, log stores etc.
Also look on our shelves for the latest seasonal offering from the resident “elfmaker”. All sales support the work TCV does with disadvantaged adults
The TCV Hollybush Woodworkers provides purposeful activity for adults with learning disability and people who have experienced mental ill health. We run courses for novice woodworkers and also those wanting to refresh skills. There is more information on our courses and the Centre at www.tcv.org.uk/hollybush.
The woodwork project has been led by the Centre Manager to offer the opportunities of a traditional school woodwork class to everyone. The ethos that everything we make should be of a standard that could be sold is really important.
The project has become very popular, students on basic courses have made and taken home over 150 garden benches. Products are also on sale at Hollybush Tuesday to Friday and at our annual plant sale, Big Green Weekend and Christmas Fair.
We are delighted to be part of Fabrication makers.
