Fabrication are very pleased to announce that The Art Crowd will be exhibiting their work in our gallery space 14 Feasegate, York. Mon 11th - Sun 24th Aug.

The Art Crowd are group of very different professional artists whose diverse work covers various subjects, mediums and techniques and the exhibition reflects their differences by having no theme and no subject, every style and medium. Just quality art.

The Art Crowd formed five years ago to show off the talent in our small part of North Yorkshire. They had a gallery in Northallerton High Street until lock-down and since then, both individually and as a group, they have exhibited in a large number of galleries, at festivals and events across North Yorkshire, as well as running workshops and art courses at their headquarters at Dale House in Northallerton.

Wendi May New - An art teacher, painter and muralist.
Karina Wiles - A textile and mixed media artist.
Gill Kirk - A multi-disciplinary artist, print, paint, textiles.
Bill Oakey - A painter of people and places, and everything else.
Clare Lindley - Pen-and-ink illustrator and discoverer of Thorney Burrow.
Katy Longster - An artist who stitches Yorkshire working-class life into fabric.
Gavin Wilson - A photographer who blends analogue & digital processes.

Shaun J Casey Art

Shaun Casey is from Leeds, the Hyde Park Headingley area, he went to the Leeds Metropolitan University where he gained my BA ( Hons) degree in graphic arts and design, majoring in illustration, He's always had an interest in drawing but never pursued in his younger years due to helping bring up a young family. In 2011 he spent some of his spare time drawing the exhibits at the Royal Armouries in Leeds where his work was spotted by staff and an exhibition of his work at the Armouries ensued.

This gave his confidence a lift and although it was stop start regarding drawing again, he picked up the pen once more in 2019 and started drawing animals in fine liner ink, he liked the control of the pen and the deep dark textures of the ink and before he knew it he started illustrating a book on WW1, he have completed 62 A3 ink drawings on this his wife Lesley-Jane writing the back stories.

They are hoping to publish the book later this year, he hopes all that see my work will find it aesthetically pleasing, he's never really thought of myself as an artist but a craftsman with a pen.

Our current York Exhibition Space is on the ground floor of the new Fabrication creative work space, with a 2 minute walk to buses and a 10 minute walk to car parks and to York Railway Station, surrounded by other independent shops, bars and restaurants and in the heart of York City Centre. Our exhibition space is available to rent on an affordable weekly basis. We also have open plan co-working facilities and a product and fashion photography studio With plenty of natural light and the opportunity to use our plinths, easels, glass cabinets and hanging system this is a space definitely worthy of a visit.
