Create a needle-felted owl in this fun and relaxing 2-hour workshop with established textile artist, Brenda Christison, from Felty and Fabulous. You will learn 3D needle felting techniques and produce your very own owl to take home. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from and lots of examples to inspire.

Beginners and those with experience welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult.

Access: The Fabrication shop has step access from the street.  The class area is located at the rear of the shop floor in a separate room.  Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via stairs only.

    Beginners Lino Print Making

    Saturday 16th March 10 - 1pm Learn the basics of lino printing: from carving to inking to printing a lino block (A6 size) with Rachel Holborow of RK Wanderings printmaking - an experienced teacher, member of York Printmakers and York Open Studios artist. In this three hour workshop you will begin by learning about the tools and materials of lino printmaking; design your own lino block (please bring an idea (A6 drawing) of what you might like to print) and then carve it; then experiment with printing it. We will use Caligo safewash inks, which are vegetable oil based, non toxic and easy to clean up. There will be a maximum of 5 participants and you must be over 18 to take part. Be aware, you will use sharp tools at your own risk! (Safety tips will be covered at the beginning of the workshop and must be adhered to.) All materials for the workshop are included in the price, and you can take home the lino block you carve and - two weeks later (once they are dry) - your prints. Your prints can be picked up from Fabrication York, or posted to you for £3 P+P. Additionally there will be the opportunity to buy  your own tools and materials on the day if you wish to take them home to develop your skills. Total cost for this 3 hour workshop is £35 which includes workshop materials, use of equipment and tuition + tea and biscuits. Please let me know allergen requirements at least 48 hours prior to the workshop.   This class will be held in Fabrication York at 19 Coney St, York YO1 9QL Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs (can potentially be moved into the shop area by request). Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via three sets of fire doors.

    About Jackie With over 20 years of experience in silversmithing and metalsmithing, I’ve developed a deep love for the art of jewellery making. What has always captivated me most is the creative freedom found in working with clay — the way it allows the imagination to flow freely toward a finished design.

    I began using clay as a way to prototype my metal pieces, and through that process, I fell in love with the medium itself. Now, it brings me great joy to share this journey with others, teaching the craft and inspiring new makers to explore their own creativity.

    Join Laura from L & S Crafts (2) Facebook at Fabrication York in York city centre, for a fun papercraft workshop to make Christmas origami stars.
    During the session you will learn how to fold five-pointed stars from pretty, plain and patterned paper in a variety of sizes. These can then be strung together to make a Christmas garland, used to decorate presents and cards, or be made into decorations for your home. They also make lovely gifts for friends and family.
    All equipment and materials will be provided, including our specially designed kit containing all you need to make different sized star garlands.
    You will also receive a link to our origami star video tutorial to continue creating at home after the workshop.
    Hot drinks will be available.
    Minimum age for participants is 18 years
