£45.00Christmas Candle Making Workshop in York city centre
Christmas Candle Making Workshop Dates: Sat 2nd Nov either 11 -1pm or 2 - 4pm Sun 1st Dec 11 - 1pm Sun 15th Dec 11 - 1pm Ideal for anyone new to candle making. You can enjoy learning how to make your own soy wax Christmas candles and tealights. Working at a relaxed pace and choosing from various Christmas aromas you will make 2 x tin container candles and a set of 6 tealights. These are yours to keep (once they've cured). Workshops are kept small to allow for individual attention, all materials, equipment and tuition are included in the price. On the day all you need to do is turn up and enjoy. Your tutor is Wendy, owner of York based business PQ Soy Wax Candles. Wendy has over 10 years experience of making candles and wax melts. After the workshop, Wendy will manage the curing and CLP labelling and your candles will be ready to collect from Fabrication York 1 week after the workshop. All the products you'll make are suitable for Vegans. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult (over 18). The workshops last around 2 hours with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits. Please advise of allergen requirements at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs (can potentially be moved into the shop area by request). Workshop in Leeds city centre
Sat 20th Sept 11 - 4pm Come and learn the art of hat making with professional milliner Alison Turton. Alison has over twenty seven years experience working in the theatre, opera, ballet and bridal world and has made literally hundreds of hats! In this relaxed and friendly workshop you will learn how to make a cocktail hat using sinamay and traditional blocking techniques, along with decorating the hat. There is also an option to made a headband instead if you wish. Sewing experience is not essential but might be helpful. All materials are included along with tea, coffee and biscuits. Cost is £65 including all materials, equipment and tuition. This class will be held in Fabrication Leeds at 83 Briggate Leeds Access: The Fabrication shop has level access from the street. The class area is located on the first floor of the shop with only access via stairs. Toilets are also on the first floor and accessed via stairs only. -
£25.00Saturday 1st February 10am - 12nooon Want to learn how to needle-felt or to improve your skills? Make a picture of a landscape in this fun and relaxing 2-hour workshop with established textile artist, Brenda Christison, from Felty and Fabulous. Bring along a favourite photo or let your imagination run wild! You will start by sketching your ideas and then learn 2D needle felting techniques to create a picture to take home. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from. Beginners and those with experience welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult. This class will be held in Fabrication York at 32 Stonegate YO1 8AS Access: The Fabrication shop has step access from the street. The class area is located at the rear of the shop floor in a separate room. Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via stairs only. -

Cost is £30 per class including all materials, equipment and tuition.About Jackie With over 20 years of experience in silversmithing and metalsmithing, I’ve developed a deep love for the art of jewellery making. What has always captivated me most is the creative freedom found in working with clay — the way it allows the imagination to flow freely toward a finished design.
I began using clay as a way to prototype my metal pieces, and through that process, I fell in love with the medium itself. Now, it brings me great joy to share this journey with others, teaching the craft and inspiring new makers to explore their own creativity.
This class will be held in Fabrication York at 32 Stonegate YO1 8AS Access: The Fabrication shop has stepped access from the street. The class area is located on the ground floor of the shop with access via the shop floor (which also has a step enroute). Toilets are also on the first floor and accessed via stairs only.
