Beginners Candle Making Workshop in York city centre
11am - 1pm on Sun 11th August 2024 £45 per person, max 4 people per class. Ideal for anyone new to candle making. You can enjoy learning how to make your own soy wax candles and tealights. Working at a relaxed pace and choosing from various aromas you will make 2 x tin container candles and a set of 6 tealights. These are yours to keep (once they've cured). Workshops are kept small to allow for individual attention, all materials, equipment and tuition are included in the price. On the day all you need to do is turn up and enjoy. Your tutor is Wendy, owner of York based business PQ Soy Wax Candles. Wendy has over 10 years experience of making candles and wax melts. After the workshop, Wendy will manage the curing and CLP labelling and your candles will be ready to collect from Fabrication York 2 weeks after the workshop. All the products you'll make are suitable for Vegans. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult (over 18). The workshops last around 2 hours with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits. Please advise of allergen requirements at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. Create Your Own Terrarium

Sat 15th June 11 - 1pm Sun 21st July 11.30 - 1.30pm £65 per person and your 2 hour session includes:- An introduction to terrariums
- Briefing on choice of materials, terrarium dynamics and aftercare
- Demonstration and hands on making
- Take home your creation
These courses will be conducted by Amarah, a surgeon by profession, who has temporarily taken a step back from the operating room, to spend more time with family and explore her creative side as a terrarium artist. On this platform, she shares her skill and conducts Terrarium Making Classes, providing an opportunity to learn a new skill and inspiring others to discover the joy and therapeutic benefits of creating these green scapes!

£35.00Sunday 7th April 2024 : 13:30-16:30 £35 a head. Maximum 8 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft experience is helpful. Make your own miniature book. All the fun of bookbinding at a fraction of the size. This class will take your through the basics of making a miniature case binding, using book cloth and decorative paper. All materials will be provided but participants are very welcome to bring their own paper to incorporate into their bindings if suitable. Create your very own tiny tome. Tomes can have jump rings added if you would like to turn your tome into a book themed necklace or brooch. A short fun class aimed at beginners. Make an Easter egg or chick in this fun and ‘eggciting’ 2 hour workshop with Brenda Christison from Felty and Fabulous. (4) Felty and Fabulous | Facebook You will learn 3D needle felting techniques and then create at least one egg or chick to take home. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from. Beginners and those with experience welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult. Pottery Painting Sessions

Sat 13th July 10.30 - 1 or 1.30 - 4pm Sat 10th August 10.30 - 1 or 1.30 - 4pm Come to the craftiest place in Leeds for our brand-new pottery painting sessions. Paint your choice of mug, plate, bowl, or tile with a design of your choosing using underglazes while you sit and chat with friends and family! At £30 per person with no hidden costs or fees, drinks and refreshments provided, this is the perfect opportunity to socialize and craft in Leeds City Centre. Paint your pottery, leave it a week or two, and when you get a text or email notification that your pot has been glazed and fired, come and collect it from the Fabrication reserve shelf at any point during opening hours! Our first set of pottery painting sessions will be on July 13th 2024 and we will run a morning and afternoon session at 10:30-1:00 & 1:30-4:00. We will be running a further workshop at the same times on August 10th. These courses will be run by Becky Walker of BBRT and supported by Katy Davies from Ceramic Rabbit. Becky has been making for as long as she can remember and currently sells mosaics and children’s clothes and accessories at Fabrication on Briggate. She loves to create and even though she sells broken glass and ceramics- she loves to paint pottery. Becky has been teaching for over 10 years and is excited to facilitate pottery painting sessions at the fantastic Fabrication Crafts! Katy is a talented ceramicist, and her craft has been passed down in her family for generations. She inherited her kiln from her grandmother, who was also a ceramicist, and Katy is excellent at hand building figurines. She is the behind-the-scenes expert on ceramics and will be helping glaze and fire the pieces you paint. Whether your tastes are more are more cottage core or dark academia, this class will take you through making a fabulous notebook for you to take home. Includes a wide variety of fabrics and papers to choose from (and you are welcome to bring and include your own if useable), as well as the opportunity to incorporate 3D elements such as jewellery into your book. This class will be held in Anachronalia’s city centre workshop Fabrication2 venue at Hereford House, 6 Edward St, Leeds LS2 7NT There are plenty of local eateries to take your lunch in, or you can bring a packed lunch and sit in the workshop itself. Working With Fabric – Making Cloth Covered Books – 16th June 2024

Maximum 8 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft or bookbinding experience is helpful. All tools and materials provided. A creative class looking at how to turn your fabric scraps into decorative book cloth. We'll spend the morning looking at possible fabrics, what to look out for when choosing your fabric, and different methods for lining them for covering. In the afternoon, we'll move on to covering some test boards with different types of fabric and finally covering a pre-prepared text block to create your own finished cloth covered book. All materials are provided but participants are welcome to bring their own fabrics to work with, if suitable.
