We have a number of of craft classes in Leeds City Centre. Ranging from sewing & historical dressmaking course, through to bookbinding workshops. Also textile printing, bookbinding classes, jewellery making leatherwork and felting
There are cookery classes, crafty hen parties and outreach learning as well

Drop in Sessions in The Bindery
Book bindery space & equipment hire Leeds City Centre, Bookbinding ClassesFriendly drop-in sessions aimed at binders or future binders of all skill levels. Take advantage of the space, tools* and reference library in Anachronalia’s bindery and learn at your own pace. Just pay for the sessions you attend. This is a self-led session but Linette will be present to supervise and on hand for advice or an extra pair of hands. There will be some materials available to participants/binders to practice with for free but participants should also look to source their own for more specialist projects or can purchase additional materials at cost from Anachronalia. Tea and coffee is available. *First time visitors to the bindery will be required to complete a brief workshop and H&S induction and training on relevant machinery. When: 14:00-19:00 Price: £10 a session NB: 24 hour advance booking or contact is requested so that in the event of a session cancellation everyone can be kept informed. Maximum 6 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft experience is helpful. All tools and materials provided. Whether your tastes are more are more cottage core or dark academia, this class will take you through making a fabulous notebook for you to take home. Includes a wide variety of fabrics and papers to choose from (and you are welcome to bring and include your own if useable), as well as the opportunity to incorporate 3D elements such as jewellery into your book. This class will be held in Anachronalia’s city centre workshop Fabrication2 venue at Hereford House, 6 Edward St, Leeds LS2 7NT There are plenty of local eateries to take your lunch in, or you can bring a packed lunch and sit in the workshop itself. Access: the workshop is on the first floor, accessed via a short flight of stairs to the ground floor, then a larger flight of stairs with handrail accessed via a fire door. Maximum 8 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft or bookbinding experience is helpful. All tools and materials provided. A creative class looking at how to turn your fabric scraps into decorative book cloth. We'll spend the morning looking at possible fabrics, what to look out for when choosing your fabric, and different methods for lining them for covering. In the afternoon, we'll move on to covering some test boards with different types of fabric and finally covering a pre-prepared text block to create your own finished cloth covered book. All materials are provided but participants are welcome to bring their own fabrics to work with, if suitable.
