Introduction to Gold Leaf
Rob Oldfield is a gilder, typographer and educator, with nearly forty years experience working in museums and historic interiors. He recognizes the importance of crafts like gilding and he has a desire to pass on his knowledge so that it does not become yet another ‘forgotten art’ in an increasingly digital world.
Gilding is a decorative technique for applying a very thin coating of metal to solid surfaces. The effect is beautiful and this is a rare opportunity to learn it yourself.
Cost is £15 including all materials, equipment and tuition along with tea, coffee, biscuits.

This class will be held in Fabrication York at 19 Coney St, York YO1 9QL
Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs. Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via three sets of fire doors.

Craft Hen Parties in York City Centre Fabrication has a wide variety of craft hen party ideas. All are available for parties of up to a maximum of 20. Hen parties are held at our York shop premises All our classes serve complimentary tea and coffee, along with pink fizz and chocolate cake as standard. Dates are secured with a non refundable 50% deposit, the balance is due by the event day, cancellations within your party cannot be refunded within 7 days of the event. If booked within 2 weeks of date of event then full payment is required at the time of booking
