Beginners Candle Making Workshop in York city centre

Sat 7th June 11.30 - 1pm Sat 5th July 11 - 12.30pm Sat 20th Sept 11 - 12.30pm Beginners Candle Making Workshop in York city centre. Ideal for anyone new to candle making. You can enjoy learning how to make your own soy wax candles and tealights. Working at a relaxed pace and choosing from various aromas you will make 2 x tin container candles and a set of 6 tealights. These are yours to keep (once they've cured). Workshops are kept small to allow for individual attention, all materials, equipment and tuition are included in the price. On the day all you need to do is turn up and enjoy. Your tutor is Wendy, owner of York based business PQ Soy Wax Candles. Wendy has over 13 years experience of making candles and wax melts. After the workshop, Wendy will manage the curing and finishing of your candles which will be ready to collect from Fabrication York 1 week after the workshop. All the products you'll make are suitable for Vegans. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult (over 18). The workshops last around 1.5 hours with complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits. Please advise of allergen requirements at least 48 hours prior to the workshop. Time To Be Creative - Bind Your Own Tome 12th May 2024: 10:30-17:30 (with a break for lunch) £80 a head. Maximum 6 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft experience is helpful. All tools and materials provided. Whether your tastes are more are more cottage core or dark academia, this class will take you through making a fabulous notebook for you to take home. Includes a wide variety of fabrics and papers to choose from (and you are welcome to bring and include your own if useable), as well as the opportunity to incorporate 3D elements such as jewellery into your book. This class will be held in Anachronalia’s city centre workshop Fabrication2 venue at Hereford House, 6 Edward St, Leeds LS2 7NT There are plenty of local eateries to take your lunch in, or you can bring a packed lunch and sit in the workshop itself. Access: the workshop is on the first floor, accessed via a short flight of stairs to the ground floor, then a larger flight of stairs with handrail accessed via a fire door. Jewellery Bench Hire

(£4 per hour) Use of shared tools, including hearth and blowtorch with gas, pickle, pillar drill, bench grinders. polishing motor and barrel tumbler. Small tools such as pliers, hammers, doming and swaging blocks and more are also available. We expect people to bring or use their own basic tools (saw, files, scribe/ruler etc), though these are available to hire for an additional single £5.00 charge.

Day Passes - £15 per day/£4 per hour

This is the perfect option for you if you only have a small amount of work you would like to do. Come in and spend the day soldering and polishing and using our tools. While our studio is not necessarily open every day and evening, we’ll work together to find a day that suits you to come and work. Passes usually count as up to 8hrs of workshop time, between the hours of 10am and 8pm Mon to Fri. Weekends subject to availability.Own Studio Membership (£120 to £200 month) (2m x 3m or 3m x 3m) Larger dedicated workspaces are available on a monthly basis and is yours to utilise as you wish. Classes may be run in our workshop, subject to suitable insurance and our shared workbenches are available for use. Along with the above you also get the following as a monthly membership: A personal locker and bench are provided. Keys to access the studio when it suits you A listing in our members area where you can share your work, website or social links We have a minimum 6 month contract with monthly terms after the initial period.

Needlefelt a Summer Picture Saturday 14^th June 11am – 1pm Want to learn how to needle-felt or to improve your skills? Make a picture of a landscape in this fun and relaxing 2-hour workshop with established textile artist, Brenda Christison, from Felty and Fabulous. Bring along a favourite photo or let your imagination run wild! You will start by sketching your ideas and then learn 2D needle felting techniques to create a picture to take home.
