Pottery Painting Sessions in Leeds city centre
Sat 7th Sept 1.30 - 4pm Sat 19th Oct 1.30 - 4pm Sat 2nd Nov 1.30 - 4pm Sat 14th Dec 1.30 - 4pm Come to the craftiest place in Leeds for our brand new pottery painting sessions. Paint your choice of mug, plate, bowl, or tile with a design of your choosing using underglazes while you sit and chat with friends and family! At £30 per person with no hidden costs or fees, drinks and refreshments provided, this is the perfect opportunity to socialize and craft in Leeds City Centre. Paint your pottery, leave it a week or two, and when you get a text or email notification that your pot has been glazed and fired, come and collect it from the Fabrication reserve shelf at any point during opening hours! Our Autumnal pottery painting sessions will be running once a month in the afternoon at 1:30-4:00. These courses will be run by Becky Walker of BBRT and supported by Katy Davies from Ceramic Rabbit. Becky has been making for as long as she can remember and currently sells mosaics and children’s clothes and accessories at Fabrication on Briggate. She loves to create and even though she sells broken glass and ceramics- she loves to paint pottery. Becky has been teaching for over 10 years and is excited to facilitate pottery painting sessions at the fantastic Fabrication Crafts! Katy is a talented ceramicist, and her craft has been passed down in her family for generations. She inherited her kiln from her grandmother, who was also a ceramicist, and Katy is excellent at hand building figurines. She is the behind-the-scenes expert on ceramics and will be helping glaze and fire the pieces you paint. This class will be held in Fabrication Leeds at 83 Briggate, Leeds, LS1 6LH (1) Facebook Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. You’ll learn the dos and don’ts of safety, technique and how to select materials, including the chance to practice different techniques on different woods. You’ll then get to put your new skills into practice by decorating an item of your choice to take home, followed by learning how to finish and care for your pyrography piece. Sabrina of FiftyEleven is a second-generation pyrography artist and heritage cabinet maker who has been creating fanciful and practical items in sustainable woods for 15 years. £0.00Slow Fashion Darning and Embroidery Workshop join us for a special York Fashion Week Event Darning is an eco-friendly way to repair your clothes, helping them to avoid landfill and preserving a fabric you love. It is a low and therapeutic embroidery process that strengthens your clothes while adding a decorative element. You can either bring along something to mend or we can provide all the materials so that you can learn this hand embroidery technique. Thanks to a grant from First Buses Fabrication Crafts on Coney Street have been running a number of free workshops showing participants how to upcycle, repair and enhance their clothing. Saturday 29th April 11am to 1pm the workshop is free however prebooking is required to save a place This is held at our York Coney Street shop, on the 1st floor in our upstairs classroom space with no disabled accessAdd to basket

Spooncarving - Knife Carving Workshop Sat 16th Sept 1.30 - 3.30pm Dave is an experienced woodcarver and has been running spooncarving sessions for the last 5yrs. The 2hr session is an introduction to spooncarving and covers the knife skills required to safely carve your first spoon. You'll be guided through the process as Dave shows you how to use the straight and bent knife whilst carving a prepared blank. Join established textile artist, Brenda Christison, from Felty and Fabulous to learn how to add patches and stitches to breathe new life into your clothes. Bring along an item to fix (heavier weight items, such as denim will work best). Patches, threads, tuition and fun all provided! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult.
