Suitable for beginners but some previous craft experience is helpful.

Make your own miniature book. All the fun of bookbinding at a fraction of the size. This class will take your through the basics of making a miniature case binding, using book cloth and decorative paper. All materials will be provided but participants are very welcome to bring their own paper to incorporate into their bindings if suitable.

Create your very own tiny tome. Tomes can have jump rings added if you would like to turn your tome into a book themed necklace or brooch. A short fun class aimed at beginners.

This class will be held in Fabrication York at 19 Coney St, York YO1 9QL

Access: The Fabrication shop has level access to the street. The class area is on the first floor accessed via 2 flights of stairs. Toilets are on the first floor and accessed via three sets of fire doors. If you have any specific access queries, don’t hesitate to contact Anachronalia.

    Time To Be Creative - Bind Your Own Tome 12th May 2024: 10:30-17:30 (with a break for lunch) £80 a head. Maximum 6 participants. Hot drinks included. Suitable for beginners but some previous craft experience is helpful. All tools and materials provided. Whether your tastes are more are more cottage core or dark academia, this class will take you through making a fabulous notebook for you to take home. Includes a wide variety of fabrics and papers to choose from (and you are welcome to bring and include your own if useable), as well as the opportunity to incorporate 3D elements such as jewellery into your book. This class will be held in Anachronalia’s city centre workshop Fabrication2 venue at Hereford House, 6 Edward St, Leeds LS2 7NT There are plenty of local eateries to take your lunch in, or you can bring a packed lunch and sit in the workshop itself. Access: the workshop is on the first floor, accessed via a short flight of stairs to the ground floor, then a larger flight of stairs with handrail accessed via a fire door. Toilets and kitchen facilities are on the same floor as the workshop. If you have any specific access queries, don’t hesitate to contact Anachronalia.

    Slow Fashion Darning and Embroidery Workshop join us for a special York Fashion Week Event Darning is an eco-friendly way to repair your clothes, helping them to avoid landfill and preserving a fabric you love. It is a low and therapeutic embroidery process that strengthens your clothes while adding a decorative element. You can either bring along something to mend or we can provide all the materials so that you can learn this hand embroidery technique. Thanks to a grant from First Buses Fabrication Crafts on Coney Street have been running a number of free workshops showing participants how to upcycle, repair and enhance their clothing. Saturday 29th April 11am to 1pm the workshop is free however prebooking is required to save a place This is held at our York Coney Street shop, on the 1st floor in our upstairs classroom space with no disabled access

    Want to learn how to ‘paint with wool’?
    Create a needle-felted picture in this fun and relaxing 2 hour workshop with Brenda Christison from Felty and Fabulous (4) Felty and Fabulous | Facebook . You will learn 2D needle felting techniques and produce your very own picture felted onto a piece of vintage blanket. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from. Bring a photo you would like to copy or be inspired by Brenda’s example landscapes.
    Beginners and those with experience welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult.

    Make a small seaside scene in this fun and relaxing 2 hour workshop with Brenda Christison from Felty and Fabulous.
    You will learn the basic needle felting techniques and then create  a small landscape to take home. All equipment provided, including a selection of gorgeous wool colours to choose from.
    Beginners welcome! Age 10+. Children to be accompanied by an adult.
    Cost is £25 including all materials, equipment and tuition  along with tea, coffee, biscuits.
